I don't know if anyone else from our clan will write you, but I wanted to personally thank you and tell you what wonderful accommodations we had at the Schloss/Husmatt apartments. For one thing, they were super convenient. Only steps (however, straight up hill) from the train that connected us to the entire country and only about a block away from the ferry system that, besides being nice, offered connections to visit all over the lake and other ferries. They were also directly next door to the Schloss Hotel restaurant. So breakfast was only a few feet away!

The restaurant had a wonderful slate-floor patio for outdoor dining with awnings to block the sun or rain, beautiful table linens, superb food and often a violin player in the evenings. Breakfast each morning was a true delight. A large selection of fresh breads, cakes, cereals, meats, cheeses, jellies, fruits, yogurt, coffee, tea, hot chocolate....We experienced many memorable dinners there and came to know the friendly, professional wait staff. Across the street, the resort had a park setting with green open space down to Lake Lucerne. Tables and chairs under large trees made a perfect place to relax, or swim or paddle boat in crystal clear water.

The apartment was roomy and having maid service and clean towels each day was perfect. We had access to a computer and our kids loved the indoor pool. The management worked hard to assist us in planning day and over night trips. They found an English speaking farmer for us to visit and arranged a very talented hairdresser for my mother.

Before heading to Switzerland, I read several "visitor comments" on websites about the resort and became terribly worried we'd made a huge mistake. I can now say the complaints they made were way off base. I would recommend this resort and hope to return one day.
