Durbach is known as the 'golden wine village', the most important wine growing community in this region of Germany dating back to the 14 th century. A romantic village with half-timbered houses abundantly decorated with flowers where the beauty of the past has been preserved. It is the home of the Clevner (Traminer) grape and the Klingelberger (Riesling) which has brought many awards to its seasoned vintners. Durbach's close proximity to the Rhine river, Strasbourg (France), Freiburg and Switzerland make this an ideal base for vacationing. Endless hiking trails, excellent restaurants and of course wine tasting tours are available in Durbach's immediate vicinity.

Werner Vineyards is a beautiful, half-timbered winery set among rolling hills and vineyards, a 10 minute walk from the center of Durbach. Possibility of purchasing 'Schnapps' (brandy) from the house's own distillery. There are 3 independent, non-smoking apartments in the house (one comprising each floor). All apartments are furnished to a high standard in a rustic/country style. High quality, wooden furniture and exposed beams give these properties charm and character.

Apartment B is located on the ground floor: Living room with double sofa bed, TV, telephone and dining area with built-in corner seating. Bedroom with double bed. Modern, fully equipped kitchen, open to the living room. Immaculate bathroom with tiled shower/WC. What a marvelous location, the scenery is breathtaking. The host was very friendly. The town is lovely and has beautiful shops. The 3 bakeries are fabulous. The winery is beautiful and unique. We visited all the cities and towns in the Black Forest region. The vacation was a total success. P.S. You could eat off the floor it was so clean.

The apartment was beautiful and clean. The countryside was very beautiful too. However, the fold-out bed for our 6 ft tall children was for too small. The kitchen could only accommodate 1 person because it was very small also and the bathroom only had a shower, no tub. The master bedroom was much smaller than the picture showed also. We had a wonderful trip though and plan to go back again some day. We would be willing to stay again in this place but would probably not bring the children and would rather have the larger bedroom.

We had a delightful time. The Werner Family were warm and friendly but kept their distance so that we could enjoy our privacy. We were close enough to the big cities so it didn't seem like we were always on the road. More often than not we would stop at the local butchers and get something to barbecue while the kids played ping pong or took walks. The furnishings were wonderful. We had stopped at the grocery store on the way in and picked up the essentials. We would all highly recommend staying at Werner Vineyards and would return again.

Durbach is a lovely town and Werner vineyards I a spectacular property. Frau Werner was most hospitable. It does take a little while to get to other places, but one could have a fine vacation just hiking and wind tasting the immediate area. A quirk of the fold out bed - you can't tuck the bottom sheet in.

It was very clean and well appointed. It was a nice size for our family of 4. The property was in a good location for visiting attractions although, being a vineyard, it might not be what you would consider to be an authentic Black Forest experience. The owners were very helpful, and even did a few loads of laundry for us!

We still have wonderful memories of our trip to Germany even though it has been almost two years. We would like to go back as soon as we can. The cultural experience was wonderfully refreshing, in that the people lived much simpler and neater lives than we do. They shop daily for food instead of piling up like we do, and I found that very refreshing. Also everything was very very clean in our apartment at the back of a winery. We went at the perfect time in November with the weather being pleasantly cool. We found out that this place is a tourist center for Germans and French, not necessarily Americans, and so we were thought to be French by the locals at a restaurant. We learned key phrases in German before we went, such as, ‘What do you recommend?’ and found that to be excellent, since the people there know what is good to eat. This trip to Germany was a childhood dream that I got to enjoy at age 36. It was everything my dreams desired and more. Dreams can't give you the smells and sounds that come with actually being there. The only scary part was on the autobahn. The left lane travels a lot faster than the right lane so the brakes are used much more often. .I recommend any one who desires to go to Europe and want a pleasant trip without unpleasant surprises to use your service. I also recommend to learn a little of the language before you go, because our hosts couldn't speak English, and only one person in each shop could speak English. That was more than half the fun though... getting what you want and need with limited communication felt like a real accomplishment every day so we were more than happy with the challenge and full cultural experience

Payment

A 30% deposit of the total rent is due within 7 days of the time the booking is confirmed. The balance is due no later than 6 weeks before the beginning of the rental period. After full payment has been received, a voucher, directions and the address of the property are sent to the client.

Number of Persons

The number of people cannot exceed the maximum number of people specified in the property description.

Arrival and Departure

The minimum rental period is 4 nights. Rental periods begin after 4 pm on the arrival date and end before 10 am on the departure date.

Damages

The client is obligated to report any damages caused my him/her to the property and is financially responsible for these damages.

Complaints

If the client has cause for complaint, he/she should inform the owner of the property immediately, so he may take the necessary steps to eliminate the cause for any reasonable complaint.

Cancellation Policy

If you are forced to cancel your reservation, the following cancellationcharges will be applied:

- 10% of the rental price, if the cancellation is made up to 45 daysbefore the scheduled arrival date

- 25% of the rental price, if the cancellation is made between 44 and30 days before the scheduled arrival date.

- 50% of the rental price, if the cancellation is made between 29 and22 days before the scheduled arrival date.

- 80% of the rental price, if the cancellation is made between 21 and5 days before the scheduled arrival date

- 100% of the rental price, if the cancellation is made 0 - 5 days beforethe scheduled arrival date

If at any time due to circumstances beyond our control the property booked becomes unavailable or unfit for habitation, either before or during the rental period concerned, the client will be notified immediately. We will either reimburse the client the entire amount of the rental cost, or, if so instructed, try to arrange an alternative accommodation of equal value (if available).
