The property was outstanding, even better than it appeared on your web site. We felt more like a local and less like tourists staying in an apartment in a residential neighborhood, and I think we got a better flavor of the real Germany. I would definitely recommend Xenia and Drawbridge To Europe. Sonja Nottelson Elkhorn, WI Property was fabulous and perfectly located. The apartment was completely charming and functional. Every detail for which we were relying on Drawbridge to Europe was executed perfectly and was well above our high expectations. (Erika - the key holder - was super!) Elizabeth Hynes Sioux Falls, SD Just returned from our trip to Europe where we stayed for one week in Apartment Xenia in Bavaria. I had to write to let you know how pleased we are with the entire experience. The apartment was everything described and the view was indescribable. Thanks so much for your service to us Yanks traveling abroad. Danny Bowen Lexington KY We had a super time in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and will recommend to others Drawbridge to Europe properties. Our next vacation to Europe (probably a ways off), we would again use Drawbridge to Europe. I think there is only one area of improvement for Apartment Xenia, and that is to have the hand held shower mounted to the wall like an American shower (along with a curtain, of course). By the end of the week, we were looking forward to an upright shower. I travel frequently on business to Europe, and I know that is a typical European bathroom so I don't consider it a big deal. But like I said, it would be the only improvement I can suggest. Otherwise, fabulous!! Tony Zakel Ellicott City, MD We highly recommend Drawbridge to Europe and the apartment Xenia in particular. The web photos didn't do the apartment justice. Xenia is comfortable, beautifully furnished and has a gorgeous backyard and patio with a wonderful view of the Alps. It's location--in a residential area just a 10-minute walk from downtown Garmisch--is perfect. My recommendations for the area: For the true Bavarian experience complete with music and excellent food, dine at Gasthof Fraundorfer in Partenkirchen. Another gem is the restaurant on the shores of the Riessersee in the foothills above Xenia, just a 5-minute drive away(or a steep up-hill walk for the hearty). After dinner, you can take a leisurely walk around the small, beautiful lake. R. Rounds Monrovia, CA The Xenia property worked beautifully for our family. We had plenty of space and it was cosy at the same time. It is well situated between the mountains and Munich. We wish we could have stayed longer. My recommendations for the area: If you are travelling with children, you should visit one or both of the Luge runs nearby in Austria. It was definitely one of the highlights of our visit. D. and S. Graves Lafayette,CA Allison, I'm very, very late in thanking you, but I wanted you to know how happy my family and I were with our vacation rental. Last June 8th through the 15th, we stayed at the Xenia apartment in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. It was a beautiful apartment that was very comfortable and convenient for the 5 of us. The location was excellent, allowing day trips by car or train to places such as Munich, the Zugspitz, and Austria. Since we rented a car, it was nice to have the underground garage parking beneath our apartment. In addition, there were many interesting and enjoyable places to visit in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. We walked and took the city bus to get around town. We loved staying in the beautiful Bavarian-style apartment with furnishings that were characteristic of the area. The unit was equipped with everything we needed. The view of the Alps from the backyard was fantastic. After a day of sight-seeing, we especially enjoyed sitting around the table in the backyard taking in the view of the Alps. All in all, it was a wonderful vacation that my family will remember for a long time. Thanks so much for your help in arranging things. We appreciated your letting us know in advance about the store hours on Saturday so we could plan accordingly. Erika, the key holder, was also quite helpful. I'm very pleased with the experience I had with Drawbridge To Europe and look forward to using your services again for future vacations. Best Regards, D. Kizer With its three bedrooms, staying at the Xenia was perfect for us (two couples plus our Dad). Erika, the key holder, was great - she met us with a smile the evening we arrived and promptly had a couple of minor repairs made when we notified her. Located in the residential area of town, we had easy access to hiking, groceries, and the highway toward the Zugspitze and Reutte, Austria. Excellent recycling programs in Germany, however, English versions of the instructions would be most helpful. My recommendations for the area: We used the apartment for one week as a home base to also visit Munich, Salzberg, Oberammergau, the Weisskirche, and the Neuschwanstein & Hoenschwangau castles. In nearby Grainau, we ate at the Romantik Hotel Waxenstein which we all agreed was the best restaurant during our entire two week Germany vacation. Garmisch-Partenkirchen highlights: 1. Three days of sunshine, and the time to relax while walking around town. 2. Chocolate at the Chocolaterie at Ludwigstrasse 103 3. View from the top of the Zugspitze. 4. Wonderful tulips and daffofils in May! 5. Free Friday band concert (tuba player rode in on his bicycle) 6. Hike up to the Reissersee. Also, note that the gas is cheaper in nearby Austria by 20 cents/liter J. Stinson Omaha, NE Karin at Drawbridge to Europe was helpful, efficient, and just wonderful to deal with. She always answered all our questions. She sent just the right information on time. I had complete trust that things would work out. She personally recommended the property we rented, and it worked out perfectly for the six of us.My recommendations for the area: This property is close to lifts and gondolas, shops, and restaurants. It is a very pleasant property and we enjoyed our stay in it. C. Peterson Wellesley, MA The property was beautiful. Wonderful location minutes from everything. Erika was a delight, very helpful. We are looking forward to our trip next year. All I can say is THANK YOU to everyone for making our trip one to remember. R. Gordon Deer Park,Texas Lovely apt, plenty of beds and 3 separate bedrooms was a luxury for our family. The kitchen was small but that was not a problem for us. The backyard was nice and the view of the mountains was great. Parking was easy and we liked the location and proximity to the Mountains. It was about 10 min walk into town. We rented bikes and all of us enjoyed riding into town as the streets were flat and everyone was riding bikes. My recommendations for the area: We had a fabulous Italian dinner at a rest across the street from the Food Market. Can't remember the name La Panina or something. Not that expensive either, of course has great German food and beer right in town as well. We went up 2 mountains while staying here. Both were great trips for kids and us. We also did a toboggan ride at the Olympic ski jump location that we all loved, it was very inexpensive and the kids loved it. P. Ragsdale Wyncote, PA
