A typical farmhouse in the Provence is called a ‘mas’. The traditional building methods with Terracotta tiled floors and warm color schemes are reflected in Mas Eyragues. The house recalls the Maison Jaune in Arles where Vincent van Gogh spent some years and therefore is decorated with a number of van Gogh canvases. It is comfortably furnished in a traditional Provencal farmhouse style with some modern elements. The Mas Eyragues holiday cottage is set in approx. 2000m2 of enclosed garden, with a variety of Mediterranean plants, lavender bushes and olive trees. This is a quiet, partly wooded area only a few minutes from the village centre. To fetch the baguette or to eat out in one of the little restaurants it takes just a five minutes' walk.
Mas Eyragues has a private (10 X 5 meter) swimming pool and pool house, barbecue, sun chairs, sun terrace in front of the house and pergola. The house itself has plenty of room for six, with on the first floor three bedrooms (two double rooms, one twin room), two identical bathrooms with shower and WC each, on the ground floor a spacious (50m2) living/dining room with a white stone chimney, separate WC. There is also a TV set with Satellite dish, DVD player, stereo and a choice of CDs and books. The house is traditionally furnished and has a comfortable Provencal farmhouse kitchen, fully equipped with dishwasher, hob, oven, microwave and coffee-maker. Washing machine and central heating.
The old Provencal village of Eyragues is situated between Avignon and the Camargue, close to the small town of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence (6 kms.) That is why it is the perfect starting point for a day out around the Alpilles, the Luberon or the Camargue or for sporting activities like horse riding, climbing, golfing, cycling, walking, etc. or for a visit to the famous Wednesday market of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Cultural highlights can be found from Saint-Rémy, Les Baux to Point du Gard, Arles, Nîmes, Avignon and Aix. Eyragues is a typical Provencal village, where the ancient farmers' and bull breeders' traditions are still apparent. Restaurants and shops are located in Eyragues (5 minutes walk.)
