Paris is divided into 18 districts (arrondissements in French) which spiral out clockwise from the 1st arrondissement in the center which includes the Louvre Museum. The heart of the historical sights lie within the 1st through the 8th arrondissements. The Latin Quarter includes the 5th, 6th, and parts of the 7th and is located south of the Siene river also known as the “Left Bank.” On the “Right Bank” you will find the 1st- 4th which include the area known as “Le Marais” (3rd and 4th arr.)
