An exceptional apartment, in a stunning location, with access to all of the best of Paris. An ideal place for a week or two, to really enjoy the best of living in this beautiful city.

The apartment is in a fine Paris building of 1860 on the left bank on the Boulevard St Germain in the 5th arrondissement of Paris. It is at Cluny/Sorbonne metro stop near to St Michel (2 mins. walk.) From the apartment windows you can see partial views of Notre Dame along with the Pantheon and the spires of St Severin.

On the top floor (with two-person elevator) of a beautiful building forming the corner of the Blvd. St Germain and the rue St Jacques, it has a triple exposure, with views over Paris. The apartment has just been fully renovated to a very high standard by contractors for its new American owners who are art-museum directors. Appropriately, the apartment is decorated with museum quality ‘fin-de-siecle’ paintings, drawings and prints, as well as with a few select pieces of French art-deco and '50s furniture.

There are two full bedrooms. The main has a Queen size (5' wide) double bed, air conditioning, a en suite shower and separate WC. The second bedroom has two single beds which can be joined to make a double. There is also a double sleep sofa in the lounge. All linen and bedclothes are new and of high quality. There is a new main bathroom with tub and shower over, with basin, WC ,etc. (Endless hot water!) The designer kitchen is all new with refrigerator, multi oven/micro/grill, gas hob, sink, dishwasher, clothes washer/dryer. All kitchen equipment is supplied including; electric kettle, coffee maker, toaster etc. The large lounge and dining area has been furnished in great style, and has wonderful light, getting the sun for most of the day.

All windows are new, double glazed and the apartment is quiet despite being in the heart of Paris. There is telephone, high speed internet connection, cable TV & DVD, stereo hi-fi, and full domestic equipment (Hair dryer, vacuum cleaner, iron and ironing board etc.)

All sheets, bedding and towels are provided together with a starter supply of Orange Juice, Water and Milk. Real and instant coffee, tea, milk, sugar, salt pepper toilet paper etc are also supplied.

We had a great time on our visit to Paris. The apartment really worked out well. It was wonderfully situated. It was clean, nicely decorated, and very comfortable. It was very well stocked. It more than met our expectations.

The agent on site that helped us (I am blanking out on his name) was extremely helpful. He was very helpful to us over the phone before the trip. He made a special arrangement to meet us at the apartment very early on a Sunday morning. He had stocked the apartment with milk and coffee and OJ, which was a big help. He took time to explain all the logistics to us. He could not have been nicer to us.

This apartment was adorable and in an ideal location so you could walk to most attractions. We had privacy on the top floor of the building with great views our every window. The kitchen was well equiped and compact - I still can't believe all they fit in that little room, but I was able to cook and wash a load of clothes at the same time with ease. The only downside was the street noise at night, it remains a busy area around the clock it seems. Our wonderful contact Bill Ward took care of all our needs and couldn't have been nicer. I highly recommend both the above apartment and Drawbridge To Europe.

My recommendations for the area:
This is an ideal apartment to walk to all the Paris attractions or just enjoy the side streets and all they have to offer. The local contact, Bill Ward, was extremely accessible and helpful during our stay. Because our son was able to speak French fairly well, we opted for bistros that were not touristy and had wonderful ‘traditional’ French lunches surrounded by only French patrons. It was a wonderful way to see how the French live and eat. We sampled every pastry we could get our hands on and enjoyed the reasonable wine at both the bistros and to buy in the shops. We will treasure our memories of views from the cafe atop of the Samaritaine, numerous walks to I'lle St. Louis for glace (ice cream) from Berthillon, the Luxembourg Gardens, the Eiffel Tower with lights twinkling at night, and the street markets of Rue Cler and Mouffetard with their fruits and vegetables, boulangeries and patiseries - endless great food!

Great location, although a small apartment for 5 people. The elevator is only for two people, so we had to go up in shifts. The apartment was so close to the metro stops and just a short walk from Notre Dame and the bridges. It was easy to take the train from the airport right to St. Michel, just a couple blocks from the apartment. A market and bakery were nearby, so it made it easy to prepare breakfast and small snacks or meals. The shower off the master bath is quite small, but adequate. The kitchen is made for one person, but has great equipment.

My recommendations for the area:
Make sure and dine at the Brasserie Balzar, the food and service were great. It is just a block away from the apartment.

We had a fabulous time in Paris. The Apartment was perfect. Very spacious and having two bathrooms is a huge plus. One of the great advantages was the location. Very central with a Metro station right out the front. Everything was extremely professional, from the first contact via the internet to arriving at the apartment. Great apartment in great location. Notre Dame visible from living room windows. Tour Eiffel visible from bedroom window. Starter supplies like coffee, milk, juice welcome. Elevator small, but worked while we were there ( recently serviced). Train station to CDG airport and Versailles within 1 block. Walking distance to Notre Dame, Louvre, Musee D'Orsay. Karin, the apartment location was perfect - step out the door and the metro was right there. Also, it was close to several specialty food stores, which made eating in so easy. We were delighted with how well stocked the apartments was. We love to cook, and everything that we needed was there. We didn't anticipate that in a rental. While there, we had difficulty with the television system, but our local contact had it fixed the same day that we called about it. All in all, it was a most delightful experience - very well managed from start to finish. Payment

A 30% deposit of the total rent is due within 7 days of the time thebooking is confirmed. The balance is due no later than eight weeks before the beginning of the rentalperiod. After full payment has been received, a voucher, directions and the address of the property aresent to the tenant.

Arrival and Departure

The minimum rental period is 7 nights.Rental periods begin after 4 PM on the arrival date and end before 10 am on the departure date unlessarranged otherwise in advance.

Damages

The client is obligated to report anydamages caused by him/her to the property and is financially responsible for these damages.

Complaints

If the client has cause for complaint, he/she should informthe representative immediately, so he may take the necessary steps to eliminate the causefor any reasonable complaint.

Linen

Please handle rented linens with care. Do not use linens for anythingother than their intended use. The client is liable for linen they damage and/or any missing linen.

Cancellation Policy

Should the client for any reason cancel the booking, thefollowing cancellation charges will be applied:

30 days before the arrival date 30% cancellation fee.
Cancellations made 30 - 7 days before the arrival date 50%.
Cancellations 7- 0 days before arrival date 100%.

Extra costs

All extra costs are paid on site in the local currency, if they are not included in the rental price.

Number of persons

If the number of people exceeds that indicated on the voucher and specified in the property description, the owner or representative can refuse entrance to the property.

Damage Deposit

Your damage deposit will be returned within 2-3 weeks of your stay less any extras (i.e. utilities, etc.) or damages.

Nuisances

We reserve the right to terminate a rental immediately without compensation where a tenant causes nuisance of whatever nature to neighbors or the property. The owner will make every endeavor to ensure speedy repairs.

The Accommodation

Remember that you are staying in someone's private property. Treat the accommodation and its furnishings and fittings carefully. Please respect your neighbors and avoid causing noise and/or any nuisances to them. The maximum party size in each property is stated in the description. The pitching of a tent or parking of a caravan in the garden to accommodate more people than the maximum is strictly forbidden. Take sensible security precautions and in particular ensure all windows are closed and doors locked when leaving the property. Be aware of the antique furniture, more fragile than contemporary furniture.

Leave the property in order

You must leave the property and furniture in the same arrangement and condition as when you took occupancy. Please empty the dishwasher and put away all the dishes. Empty garbage bins. If you rent sheets and towels, fold them and leave them in the main room.
